What is our Friday Night Red Bull Training?
Our Friday Night Red Bull Training is geared toward the kids learning skills. We have partnered with the Red Bulls for a long time as a club and over the past few years in our recreation program. Our goal is for kids to understand how to control the ball and progress their skills.
On Friday nights the kids will be split up with different trainers who use a curriculum that the Red Bulls have developed to evolve players. While the curriculum is there, they do modify it based on the overall skill level of the players. Most trainings are done in the form of a game. You learn a piece of skill and it gets applied in a game like activity so the kids can use it. From something as simple (for the younger kids) like red light, yellow light green light which can be turned into a dribbling and control of a soccer ball. As kids get older, they may play a game of 1v1 to practice either their 1v1 offensive skills on how to beat a player to their defensive skills.
These sessions are not built for playing a scrimmage the entire time. The idea is to focus on the skills. Saturday's will be used to play a real game vs other kids and hopefully use the skills they developed.
